As the first-aid-trained Sherpas could take about five days to reach you if you get marooned up on Mt. Everest, TGR Helicorp is thinking of a better option to do the rescue work. They are working on an unmanned aircraft dubbed Alpine Wasp that will fluff up mountaineers to safety. TGR has also developed a drone to help climbers contact the drone if they are caught in the trouble.
The Alpine Wasp features an intercooled, turbo charged, and supercharged four-cylinder, two-stroke diesel enabling the Wasp to function effectively even at 31,000 feet above sea level. A Plexi-glas sphere on the chopper’s nose houses 10 cameras that help the operator to control the Wasp from 35 kilometers away.
The remote controlled Wasp is in the production phases at the moment.
